Another one, more numbers to type
into the ailing Mainframe, circuits
purporting to arrange our lives in
an ordered Matrix. But
It can barely manage itself.
The modern Office:
bright, digital, gridded cubicles
The ivory Papers filed and divided
into comprehensive columns for
further perudal. Rational, collected,
Ordered.
The neat array tempts us to forget
bout the Life beyond this space
that as we file and stack and rectify
our souls fester and destabilise.
An hour, a day, a lifetime ebbs away
for the Company and the Invisible Hand that
promises all.
But don't be fooled, don't be naive, for
we've sold our lives at the economy's call.
